Today, we have a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Tekonsha 4-pole trailer wiring harness. Adding a 4-pole harness to your Chevy Traverse is gonna allow you to transfer the lighting signals safely from your Traverse to your trailer that you're pulling. It'll come with this integrated dust cap that you can simply loop around the safety chain loop and attach it back to itself to keep it safe and out of the way. Once you throw your cover back on here, you won't have to worry about it. more

Having 7-pole wiring on your Traverse is gonna be a great option for hooking up to trailers that have a 7-way plug, and that way you can get all your lighting functions as far as your running lights, your turn signals and brake lights keeping you safe. And this is also the first step of getting a brake controller installed. You will need a 7-pole to get that brake output signal to your trailer brakes. And this one is a super easy installation. It uses a factory plug that's located just kind of behind the rear fascia and so it really is a plug and play. more

Adding a seven-way plug to the back of your Traverse is gonna be a great option when pulling a trailer that has a seven-pole plug. It's gonna give you all your lighting functions, which include your running lights, your turn signals, and brake lights. Also, this is a great first step to getting a brake controller installed as this is gonna be required to send that brake output signal. Now as far as getting this installed, this is truly plug-and-play. The plug to tie into this harness is just located behind the fascia, and really all you have to do is run the rest of the harness to where you're gonna mount it up. more

This is Tekonsha's four-pole flat trailer wiring kit that we installed on our 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. Now four-pole wiring is gonna give you the basic lighting functions that you need for either a trailer or hitch-mounted accessories that have auxiliary lighting on them, so you're gonna get your brake lights, your tail lights, your left turn signal, and your right turn signal, now if you're needing more than that, if you have a camper, say, with either electric brakes or a 12-volt auxiliary out. One great thing about this wiring setup is the fact that whenever you're not using it you're going to be able to keep it hidden behind your access panel. But whenever you are ready to hook up, you can remove your panel and easily get to it. That way you can plug in your trailer and hit the road. Which this is really convenient especially since the Traverse is really versatile I see them doing a little bit of everything, pulling trailers, and what this is going to do is allow you to power up your trailer lights, to keep you safe and legal. And with this four way flat connector end it's a really common type of connector and even a lot nowadays, too I see people using cargo carriers or other accessories that have lights on them and nine times out of 10, those types of accessories have the same type of connector end so this will allow you to power those up as well. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today, we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a seven blade RV-style connector on our 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. Now, our Tekonsha wiring is going to provide us with all the lights we need to get down the road safely, like our taillights, our turn signals, our brake lights and even our reverse lights, but it's also going to give us a brake output signal in case we have a brake controller in our Traverse, as well as a 12-volt power source to power anything on our trailer. Now, our 7-way connector is going to have a spring loaded door, so we don't have to worry about it coming open and anything getting inside. There is going to be a gasket on the inside of the door as well to keep all that dirt debris, moisture, or anything else from inside the connection points.Now, if we also look on the door, we're going to have this little notch here and that's what's actually going to catch onto your 7-way plug and prevent it from getting pulled out while we're driving down the road. And one of my favorite things about our wiring is how easy it installs. A lot of customers are worried when it comes to wiring about cutting or splicing into their vehicle. more

This is gonna give us all the proper lighting function to safely tow our trailer. It's gonna give us both turn signals, our brake lights, our running lights, and our ground. It's also gonna have a nice dust cap that's gonna help protect our connections from any dirt, debris, and moisture.This wiring harness is gonna plug directly into your factory tail light wiring and into your factor tail lights. The good thing about it is it's gonna have a power wire that runs up to your battery. The good thing about that is, it's not gonna draw any power from your tail lights themselves, it's gonna draw all the power from the battery, so you're not gonna get that dimming effect if you have lights that are drawing a little bit more power, or you have a few extra lights on your trailer.The first thing we need to do to start our installation, is we need to get into the hatch. more

I do want to mention that the bracket is not included in the kit, but you can pick some up on our website. Our wiring is going to provide us with a 4-Pole flat trailer connector. So we can give us our tail lights, brake lights, and our turn signals.We chose to mount our wiring with this bracket, because the wiring is going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times, so we'll be right next to our receiver tube whenever we get ready to hook up to our trailer. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Traverse- Video
Speaker 1: Today on this 2011 Chevrolet Traverse we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a Four Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118450.Here what our wiring looks like installed. Now, the reason you're going to want a four pole flat wiring on your vehicle is if you're going to tow a trailer, the four pole flat wiring will give you the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for you to safely and legally tow a trailer. This green wire here provides your right turn signal and right brake light, yellow wire provides your left turn signal and left brake light. The brown wire is your taillight and running light signal, and the white wire provides the necessary ground connection between your trailer and your traverse.Now, on these three circuits we have a total power output of 7-1/2 amps maximum per circuit, which is more than sufficient to tow a trailer with several incandescent light bulbs per side on it. If you're running LEDs, you don't have to worry about those at all. Basically, run as many as you want because LEDs do draw significantly less power than incandescent light bulbs. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with factory tow package, part number 118270. Here's what our wiring looks like fully installed. Now, we are using a bracket that is not included in our kit, but you can pick up several different options to mount your wiring on our website. Now, our wiring is going to give us a four-pole flat and all the required lights to have a trailer going down the road safely, such as our stop lights, turn signals and clearance lights. Now, this kit is for the factory tow package, so we're just going to have one length of wire that's going to run to our factory connector. Then, we're going to have a few fuses and relays that we're going to put in that'll start making everything function properly. Now that we've seen what it looks like when it's fully installed, let's show you how we got it there. To begin our installation, I already went ahead and removed our fascia door right here just so we can have access to our hitch and back here. Now, we're going to need to find the factory end that we're going to connect our harness to, which is going to be on the passenger side. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Traverse- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number C56181. Here's what this wiring is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, we've got our 4-pole power here at the hitch and this wiring harness is going to do a great job of just that, giving you that 4-pole power here so that you can power your trailer or cargo carrier. This kit uses T-connectors behind the tail lights in order to get the signal for the power. It does run a 12 volt power wire directly to the positive side of the battery so that the module box can take it's power from there as opposed to using the power coming off of the signals behind the taillights. more
